2012 Molokai Holokai - Kamalo Run

Announcing This Years Race Date:

Date: Saturday, May 19, 2011

Time: Check-in & Registration at 12pm-1pm. Start at 1pm. 1:20pm

Place: Kamalo Wharf to Hotel Molokai - 8.5 miles straight downwind

Get ready for Molokai's magic carpet ride, the Kamalo Run at the third annual Molokai Holokai. The stand-up paddle and prone paddleboard race features not a single sharp turn - just a straight downwind  run paddled 8.5 miles inside, or outside Molokai's windswept south fringing reef.

Proudly presented by Molokai Ohana Surf club with Youth in Motion, participant's entries support ocean-sports activities amongst youth and families on Molokai.

Never been to Molokai? A weekend of downwind paddling and a fun and competitive race provides the perfect excuse to visit Molokai this May (be sure to book your accomodations soon). For our potential return visitors, we're just as excited as you are to have you back!

Congratulations to Jeremy Riggs in the Mens 14' division who recorded last year's fastest time of 1.07.00, and to fastest woman Devin Blish who finished in 1.14.19 in women's unlimited. Blair Thorndike was the first prone paddleboarder crossing the line in 1.23.06.

Be sure to check out the race map and course video. Register online, and plan your accommodations and travel.
